SEVERAL NORTH Shore — and
other B.C. youngsters have their
art works exhibited in Australia
and in the near future the exhib-
ition will be on permanent display
in Norway.

The B.C. Young Artist Exhib-
ition is organized every other year
by the Gutreach Programs at the
Emily Carr College of Art and
Design.

Out of 3,000 entries, 159 were
chosen for the 1985 exhibit, in-
cluding the works of six North
Shore youngsters between the age
of five and 17,

Katherine Ireland entered a
linoprint titled Starving, Saffron
Graham's untitled portrait of two
figures was made with tempera
paint. Michael J. Proctor's entry
was an untitled black and white
photograph of a woman. Jennifer
Sunday entered a tempera painting
titled Crabs on the Ocean Floor.
Maria Hubinette entered a paper
batique titled Snacktime, and Sara
Kay’s entry was a linoprint titled A
Group of Workers.

The exhibit toured Washington,
B.C. and the Yukon for 13 mon-
ths, and was viewed by over 22,000
people.

Entries in the B.C. Young. Artist
Exhibition 1987 must be submitted
by March 20, and information for
conditions of entry can be obtain-
ed at the Emily Carr College.

Pool table sought

ANYONE HAVE a spare pool
table?

The Griffin Teen Centre, a free
youth drop-in activity room at the
William Griffin Community Cen-
tre, is in need of a pool.

The drop-in, which operates
Wednesday through Saturday
evenings, attracts numerous young
teens from around North Van-
couver. A dozen volunteers super-
- vise activities.

Anyone willing to donate 2 pool
table to the youth centre is re-
quested to call Tom Waiker at the
Griffin Community Centre at
986-2255. .
