A UNIQUE opportunity to
travel to China is being
organized by the University of
British Columbie's Faculty of
Commerce and Business
Administration.

The trip, Nov. 8 to 22, is
being sponsored by the
business schools at UBC and
Shanghai Jiao Tong Univer-
sity in cooperation with C.P.
Air. Hosts will be Prof.
Yang Xishan, a graduate of
the Wharton Business
School in the U.S. and now
dean of the management
school at Jiao Tong Univer-
sity; and Dr. Bruce Fauman,
director of executive pro-
grams in UBC's Faculty cf
Commerce and Businzss
Administration.

China

Executives on the tour will
have pre-arranged oppor-
tunities to discuss specific
business interests in private
meetings with Chinese fi-
nanciers, government of-
ficials and enterprise man-
agers.

They will also have brief-
ings on the new elements in
China’s cconomy: [reetrade
areas in coastal cities, special
economic zones, joint ven-
tures, and new avenues for
foreign trade and_ invest-
ment. The briefings will also
include the economic, politi-
cal and social history of
China.
