the streets free after being caught. molesting her eight-year-old daughter. She couldn’t believe that the law could operate in such strange ways. The little girl had been playing outside the house when this guy exposed himself to her. Frightened, she ran inside to tell her mother. The mother chased the guy, the police arrived, and a police dog flushed_him out of hiding. He was taken to the copshop and charged. But before that the lady had asked the police what would -happen to him. get this strai ht Doug Collins ‘‘He’ll be out on the streets: again today,’’ the police replied. That was when the lady got on the phone and started writing letters. And here’s the way she put it: ‘‘He was released, free to return to his home and life until a court date, possibly two months hence. He need that society as represented by * rehabilitation. ‘NOTICE OF DIVIDENDS Equity Shareholders The Board of Directors of North Shore Community Credit Union have declared a dividend of Equity Shares equivalent to a rate of not check with the police un- til that time. He can illegally leave town or province. He can expose himself to another child and another and another .. he has proved that he does not have control of himself. He is guilty of a crime, he was caught and identified and he was set free. Why? ‘“‘l want some = answers. Why do our laws not protect our children more effective- ly? Why are such men given freedom? Why do our police have sb few powers? ‘* In her angry curiosity, this lady has written to practically everybody but the Pope. Her letter went to the provincial -- Brian Smith, with copies to Prime . Attorney General, Minister John Turner, Brian Mulroney, Solicitor General Robert Kaplan,; MP Chuck Cook, and MLA Jack Davis. None of these gents will help her. The honorable John may send a letter full of the usual pieties, but will not tell her he was responsible for laws that let flashers go free. Mulroney will puff and blow, being full of air, and Smith will hide behind the feds. The others are helpless. The main reason nothing will be done, dear lady, is liberaldom is more concerned about the welfare of perverts and other freaks than it is about the welfare of your daughter. It doesn’t believe in retribution, as we do. It believes in the myth of Shrinks and gurus offer incantations and furrow their brows mightily over stuff like this, and it troubles them not that they have no cures. There's always hy was he set free? he North Vancouver lady on the phone was as mad as hell and wanted to know what we were coming to, that a pervert could roam tomorrow, and the money’s good. Meanwhile, murderers cruelly murder prison guards, as in Archambault, and when the maddened guards retaliate, the civil liberty crowd and the _ politicians blame them. The specific reason your flasher was allowed to roam the streets again is that, 12 years ago, the Law Reform Commission of Canada got the feds to pass a bail reform act. The commission is heavy with liberal law professors and civil liberties types whose littte girls have never been bothered by the likes of your fellow, and their theories fit- ted well with Trudeau’s flower philosophy. The Honorable John was minister oodlands of justice, and just before he went on to finance, to screw that up, the law was re written so as to miake it almost impossible for those charged with non-indictable offences to be detained. All the ‘‘Progressives’’ agreed that a great advance had been made. The jails would not be cluttered with harmless people, etc. In fact, a mess was created. Bail itself has become a farce, a lot of it being only @ promise to pay, if you can believe that, and criminals split their sides tell- ing funny bail stories. Keep fighting, though. We need more people like you. And let me know what thé Honorable John says, if any- thing.
