Canine tracks flasher AN ALBERTA man accused of exposing himself to two young girls escaped the North Vancouver residents who chased him but didn’t fare as well at the jaws of RCMP tracking dog Dain. The 23-year-old man is ac- cused of exposing himself to the two girls in the area of Eighth Street and Ridgeway at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Several residents of that area witnessed the act and gave chase, but the man was able to elude them. Police were called in and Dain was taken to the area where he picked up the man’s scent and gave chase. The man was finally found hiding under a stair- case in the 300 block of East Sixth, where he was taken into custody by police and taken to Lions Gate Hospital for minor injures he suf- fered when Dain caught up to him. The man has been released pending a court appearance and is being investigated by police for his possible in- volvement in several other exposure cases on the North Shore. The case is the second in two weeks in which a suspected flasher has been caught. Earlier a North Van- couver resident walking in the area of Marine Drive brought down a man who had run from police when they showed up to question him about a flashing incident.
