NSWER: Odours emitting from sinks or basins

cannot be masked by pouring deadourizers or hot
water down the drain. Soaps, shampoos and food sub-
stances while going down the drain will tend to cling to the
side of the drain pipe between the drain hole and the trap,
eventually building up and leaving a very smal} hole for
water to drain away. This is indicated by the water drainage
slowing to a trickle. To correct this problem, remove the
centre drop drain tail piece, normally brass in kitchen sinks
and chrome in the bathroom, from the trap adaptor. Using
a bottle washing brush, scrub the residual from inside the
tail piece with sudsy ammonia and replace.
