Avoid wardrobe pitfalls

WE'VE ALL been guilty at one
time or another of committing
shopping pitfalls — then paid the
price.

If you adopt the following
Strategies, however, you should
avoid these costly mistakes. Fol-
lowing are the most common er-
rors and how to avoid them:

such a bargain. Stores are in
business to sell, and they have very
good ways of luring you in. In a
department store, there are many
impulse-buying items on the first
floor, especially near escalators
and elevators. You'll see signs for
special purchases or very elaborate
displays all geared to cenvince you
to buy.

Don’t — unless you really need
the item. Learn to have a purpose
when you’re in a store and you
won't be so tempted.

If you buy something you don’t
need or won’t use, it’s no bargain
no matter how cheap it is.

eJ'll diet into it. Never buy
something that is too small and
think you'll lose weight. Chances
are whatever you buy will just end

up hanging in your closet. Even if
you do manage to squeeze into it,
it’s not going to do much to flatter
you.

How often have you bought some-
thing in a style you adored but ina
color you really didn’t find flatter-
ing, or that didn’t work with most
of what you owned?

We've all fallen victim to this
shopping error at one point, but
you can learn to limit this mistake.
Walk away if you don’t like both
the style and the color.
