LE DOZEN REGULAR DONUTS A DEFEATED aldermanic can- didate in the recent North Van- couver City municipal election has asked for a judicial recount fol- lowing concerns over procedure. “YT was mostly concerned with the fact the election was proclaim- ed so guickly.on election night,” said Bob Davis, who finished 26 votes behind last place alderman- elect Frank Morris. ‘‘It was pro- claimed so fast I didn’t have a chance to have it (a recount) done by the returning officer.”’ But city clerk Bruce Hawkshaw, who proclaimed the election about an hour after completing the final tally of results, said ‘‘there was opportunity"’ for any of the can- didates to request a recount. “Some returning officers will wait days (before proclaiming an election) and some will wait hours, like I did,’’ said Hawkshaw. Recounting begins the morning of Dec. 2 at the courthouse in Vancouver, and results should be known by the afternoon. Of his chances to win a seat through the recount, Davis con- ceded they are ‘“‘slim to none, but they exist.” .
