gram instituted by Prince Phillip
and is based on physical fitness,
service, skills and expeditions. It is
one of the highest awards a sea-
cadet can receive.

The three North Vancouver res-
idents are members of HMCS
Discovery Capt. Vancouver Corp.
of the Royal Canadian Sea-Cadets.

The sea-cadet program offers
many activities to young men and
women. Fund-raising efforts on
the part of the cadets make it
possible to offer these courses free
of charge. .

Some of the programs include:
special seniors leaders courses, sail
and power boat handling, survival
techniques, communications,
band, first aid and cooking.

or Community College.

This project is open to all sec-
ondary school students presently
enrolled in grades 1, 12 and 13.
The closing date for entries sub-
mitted by the schools is May 15.
