é¢é early 1,000 North Shore boys and girls are employed to deliver the News to
the residents and business people in our community. That’s a huge work
force and, for the most part, each and every one of them do a good job of
getting our newspaper to nearly 60,000 North Shore addresses. With these boys and girls

we have a steady average delivery efficiency on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday of nearly
96%.”

That’s a Star performance.

We wish we could show our readers our entire carrier force but assembling that many
people in one place at one time has proven impossible. Instead we are happy to feature the
52 Star Carriers from the past year. The truly exceptional service by these fine youngsters

earned them special recognition already and again today, on International Newspaper Car-
rier Day.”
