Hang your hydrangeas high

AT this time of year
hydrangea bushes are
full of gorgeous
blooms.

You can preserve their
beauty by cutting the flowers
and air drving them tor the
winter.

Blue hydrangeas will
maintain their blue tone
while the pink ones will turn
a beautiful burgundy shade.

Materials:

sharp pruning shears
thin wire or twist ties
string (for hanging)

The key to drying these

Cutting the blooms too
carly will cause the flowers to
shrivel. If vou wait too long
the flowers will brown,

Try cutting the bloom
just as the edges of the flow-
ers are starting to turn
brown. Take your pruning
shears and make a sharp cut
just above any knot on the
stem.

Make sure you leave
enough of a stem so as to
attach a wire for drying.

Hang the hydrangea

string in a dry and shady

You can display them in
baskers or urns, and they
fook fabulous in wreaths!
