Body dumped in West Vancouver

THE murder trial of an 18-year-old girl charged in
the death of a Ladysmith teen three years ago began

this week.

The girl, who was 14 at the time of the alleged
crime, is charged with the second-degree murder
of [8-yeae-old Zachariah Paul Steudie. Steudle
died sometime over the Labour Day Weekend in
1997 in West Vancouver Steudle’s badly decom-
posed body was discovered by hikers on ‘Sept. 21,
1997 under the Nelson Creek Bridge in West
Vancouver. The bridge, that has a paved shoulder
and no sidewalk, is. part of the Trans Canada
Highway and is near the Horseshoe Bay ferry ter.
