Hot computers

THE NORTH Vancouver RCMP recovered an estimated
$300,000 worth of stolen business computers June 24.

Police were tipped off to the haul after a Blockwatch
program member reported “suspicious activity” in the
100-block of West Sth Street.

Police found stolen computers in a vehicle bearing a
stolen rear ilcence plate.

The car owner was arrested for possessing stolen
property and later released, according to a North
Vancouver RCMP apokesman.

The computers in the car were discovered to be from
a recent commercial burglary.

Two North Shore residences were subsequently
searched where, police say, $250,000 to $300,009 worth
of stolen computers were recovered. The computers were
traced to various commercia! burglaries throughout the
Lower Mainiand.

Also recovered were stolen artwork and native arti-
facts. Two North Vancouver men were In custedy to
press time in connection with the Investigation.

Charged with possessing stolen property valued at
greater than $1,000 are Richard Warner, 24, and Dennis
Reltan, 22.

Brawl call

WEST VANCOUVER Police were called to a brawl
invelving approximately 12 peopie on Junc 12 near the
south foot of Capilano Read.

One man was transported to Lions Gate Hospital by
ambulance with undetermined Injuries as a resuit of the
2:30 a.m. fight, according to a West Vancouver Police
spokesman. .

Upon arrival at the hospital, police say, the victim

_ refused treatment. Witnesses were uncooperative with
the police investigation. Police sald raost of the people at
the scene were intoxicated.
