Thanks to a 2-1 victory over league-leading Cariboo College last Saturday afternoon and a 6-nil shutout ef Fraser Valley the following day, the Cap women won the B.C. college regular season title. Diana Artuso and Tanya Chapman had the Cap goals against Cariboo. Kristine Jack had two goals in the Fraser Valley shutout, while Artuso, Catherine Judd, Sarah Regan, and Carly Low added singles. The powerful side compiled a league-best 6-0-1 record, and their goals for (42) nearly copied that of second place Cariboo College The Blues, the defending provincial cham- pions, face fourth-place Trinity Western University Spartans (3-3-}) this Friday in the B.C. college soccer semi-finals. Kickoff is noon at Bateman Park in Abbotsford. Cariboo faces Malaspina in other semi-final, also at noon on Friday at Bateman Park. College volleyball returns to the Sportsplex this weekend for the first time in 10 years. Both Cap men’s and women’s squads play side by side Friday at 7:30 p.m. as the Malaspina Mariners come calling to the North Vancouver college campus. On Saturday, the women Blues face Camosun at the Sportsplex at noon, while the men Blues takes on Camosun at 2 p.m. Caps end drought with 8-0 downpour WE knew it had to happen sooner or later, but few would have expected the Nor-Wes Caps to end their winless streak this way.
