resulted in low revenues from the
municipally-owned golf courses.

®@ Declining interest rates resulted
in lower interest revenue for the
municipality — a loss that, was
offset by increases in miseetla-
neous revenues.

® Revenues were higher than an-
ticipated from the use of reere-
ation and cultural facilities —
particularly. the Eagle Harbour
recreation centre,

These and other factors were
reparted to have had an inipact on
the West Vancouver District
budget as laid out and approved
in the spring,

The net result was a small
surplus of $4,800.

According to the 1993 revised
budget, as presented to council by
Coun. Ron Wood on Nov, 22,
insurance deductible payments for
claims und the addition of an ad-
ministrative assistant’ midway
through the year resulted in’ in-
creases in anticipated general
government expenditures.

‘police “officers were higher than

anticipated and the police depart-
ment. experienced high legal ‘costs
du¢.to the Daniel Possee case.

“Gn the other hand, higher than
anticipated revenues in recycling
offset: higher than anticipated
costs in garbage collection.

Budget surpluses occurred in the
public. works department as a
result ‘of higher than anticipated
subdivision fees.

The revised budget was taken to
third reading at Monday night's
