She was sentenced to 12 years in prison for her part in the murders cf Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffey. Her alleged accomptice, husband Paul Teale, has yet to be tried. Justice Francis Kovacs banned the media frem publishing any details of the case in order to ensure a fair. case for Paul. The media in canada is irate over the decision, especially since Ameri- can and international agencies have defied the order and news of the trial is filtering into Canada, Rumor and speculation abouads to the point: that Paul’s legal counse! is questioning whether the ban is helping or hur- ting his, client's case.
