SPORTS High schools back in action MORE THAN 160 teams in eight sports are in the midst of tryouts, practices dnd exhibition play in preparation for the fall high school season. The 14-school North Shore Secondary Schools’ Athtetic, Association, in its 34th year of operation, has fall leagues in various age division of boys’ and girls’ badminton, cross country running, swimming and volleyball; girls’ field hockey; boys’ foorball, rugby and soccer. The North Shore is very com- petitive provincially in most of these sports. In 1990, West Vancouver Highianders won the B.C. boys’ *tA"* football championships, with Handsworth Royais and Windsor Dukes getting third-place rankings after losing in the semi-finals.
