The tour is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, starting from the North Shore Museum and Ar- chives at 2 p.m. Leading the tour is local histo- rian John Stuart, who will first Present a slide show at the North Shore museum. This, he says, will help put Lower Lonsdale into the context of the development of North Vancouver City. Stuart will also provide information on Moodyville. After the slide show, partici- pants will walk east along Third Street to look at some early houses that belonged to members of the community in its early years, From there the tour will pro- ceed down to the Lonsdale Quay, firishing at 4 p.m. Coinciding with the heritage walk is the 84th birthday of the City of North Vancouver on May 13. Also being celebrated on May 12, the day of the walk, is Ports Day and Mother’s Day. When the tour ends at the quay partici- pants can join in the closing events of Ports Day or attend the Mother’s Day tea. All the walking will be on level ground or downhill, and there is parking available at the back of North Shore Museum and Ar- chives at 209 West Fourth Street or in large lots at First and Ches- terfield. The tour takes place rain or shine. For further information call 987-5618, or 988-5572.
