therapy clinic
changes hands

A DRUG-FREE form of health care is available at the West
Vancouver Therapeutic Massage Clinic, which is under new

ownership.

Harrison Tanner, who owned
the clinic for 4% years, left the
practice on Aug. !.

It is now operated by recently-
qualified therapists Jerry Hum-
phry and Gary Neukom, who will
be joined by a third partner, Lise
Le Bel, in October.

Neukom says massage therapy
benefits anyone suffering muscular
or skeletal problems resulting from
injury or stress.

The increased circulation that
results from massage helps heal in-

system is strengthened indirectly
through reduced stress.

years at the clinic he had a 90 per

cent success rate, and also notes

The West Vancouver Therapeu-
tic Massage Clinic is no longer op-
ting in to the Medical Services Plan
of .3.C., which means patients

ply to MSP for partial reimburse-
ment of their costs.

Neukom says they made the
decision to opt out of the health
plan because the fee paid to them
through MSP was not enough to
allow them to spend an adequate
amount of time with each patient.
