program
at Ford

FOLLOWING success-
ful test runs in Ontario,
Ford of Canada is
rolling out its Quality
Certified Pre-Owned
Vehicle Program across
the country.

This month, dealerships
will begin marketing low-
mileage Ford, Lincoln and
Mercury models with added
(limited) factory warranty cov-
erage, 24-hour roadside assis-
tance and an exclusive money-
back guarantee.

“Quality Certified” Ford
and Mercury vehicles are
either less than three years old
or have accumulated fewer
than 60,000 km (Lincoins
within four years/80,000 km
qualify) and each must pass a
rigorous 100-point quality
inspection and reconditioning
process.

“Most Quality Certified
vehicles wil be two-year-old
cars and light trucks, making
them among the most impec-
cable pre-owned vehicles in
Canada,” says Jeff Morton,
Ford of Canada’s manager for
the Quality Certified program.
“For added peace of mind,
Quality Certified dealerships
will reftind che full purchase
peice within three days or 500
km if customers are nor com-
pletely satisfied.”

Morton adds consumers
were very receptive to Ford of
Canada’s Quality Certitied
pilot programs, conducted in
Orawa and Hamilton from
March ta August, 1997.

Since all eligible vehicles
remain covered by Ford of
Canada’s three-year 60,000
km original: warranty (four
years /80,000 kin for
Lincolns), the Quality
Certified program improves
warranty coverage to) four
years /80,000 km on Ford and
Mercury vehicles or five
vears/100,000 km on
Lincolns.

Some S4 components and
assemblies are covered in the
extended warranty, including
engine, brakes, suspension and
electrical systems. Aff are cov-
ered with a $100 deductible
charge.

Similarly, Ford of Canada’s
North America-wide 24-Hour
Roadside Assistance — stan-
dard during the original war-
ranty period — gets the one-
year/20,000 km — Quality
Certified extension. It covers,
free of charge, road service
such as labor performed at the
disablement site, delivery of
fucl, battery boost and the i
towing of disabled vehicles to
nearest qualified dealership.

With over 100 Ford and
Lincoln-Mereury dealerships
supporting the — Quality
Certified initiative so far, Ford
of Canada expeets that num-
ber to double by the end of
1998, Warranty service may
be performed by any of the
610 Ford and Lineotn-
Mercury dealerships across
Canada.
