“When J got out of the

‘cosmetics business in 1989 [

wanted to leave that industry.
T'd been in it an awful long
time. Opportunity knocked on
my door to become part of the
wholesale furniture industry.
That lead me down to North
Carolina to where the industry
happens.”

Morrison sees what she

does today as a continuation —

of the skills she applied in the

- yacht business.

Drapery design is a special-

trades that work with me.
They all are home-based busi-
nesses, like my tile fellow and
my drapery installer.”

About 80% of her business
is in. West Vancouver, versus
about 20% in North
Vancouver.

Interior design is ultimately
avery personal matter. To pull
it off successfully she asks a lot
of questions of her clients at
the beginning of the process.
“I listen and I’m very honest.
It’s called communication and
it becomes a very. personal
relationship when. you are
working in a person’s home.

“You want to reflect their
style of living. Color plays a
big role. It’s a passion with me
and it has to be.”

A good 80% of her business
is from referrals.
