Instead, the conversation was interrupted before it even got started by the sound of a large crash followed by the piercing wail of a distraught infant. “We haven't been‘dcing much of anything other than having babies,’ Kelly says, apologizing for the outburst. Other than a quick 10-day Hollow Bodies tour te Winnipeg and back, the Vancouver folk-rock band has kept pretty much a low ‘profile this year. Kelly and guitarist John Mann, | Spirit of the West's other founding member, have spent half of ’92 _. changing diapers and learning how to cope with the rigors of fa- ’ therhood. The band is solid, he says, and the members — including drummer Vince Ditrich, bassist Hugh McMillan and accordian player Linda McRae — are all still very commited.
