W. Van artists
display wares
at crafts fair

THE 19TH annual Circle
Craft Christmas Craft Fair
features work by over 200
Canadian artisans. Two of
them are from the North
Shore.

West Vancouver painter Laura
**Lalli® Blodgett and wood carver
Ted Allen from. North Vancouver
will be displaying their wares at
the Trade and Convention Centre
Nov. 1-15,

Blodgett, a 35-year-old Haitian
native of Italian descent, gradu-
ated Magna Cum Laude from
Tufts University in Boston, with
degrees in economics and Spanish
literature.

In 1989 she began painting her
own Christmas presents until she
recognized her desire to paint was
much more than just a simple
hobby.

Her whimsical folk art paintings
reflect her childhood experiences
growing up in the Caribbean and
extensive travels with her parents.

Ted Allen’s early experience in
woodwork began when he started
building log homes in Northern
Alberta. He has worked with fam-
inated wood since the Second
World War, when he worked on
aircraft reparation.
