Rugby rowers sink Capilanos CAPILANOS FIRST XV were beaten 28-9 by Vancouver Rowing Club in a first division rugby game at Klahanie Park on Saturday. Mike Parr had kicked two penalties and Caps were down 13-6 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half when disaster struck. Both of Capilanos’ lock forwards had to leave the field with injuries at a time when their pack had started to consistently win clean posses- sion from their opponents. The loss of an outstanding forward such as Brian Murray left the locals with too big a mountain to climb in the second half. Despite being dominated by a much heavier scrum Caps battled back, counter attacking with such conviction that they kept Rowers penned in B’ball Blues THE CAPILANO College Blues men’s basketball season tips off at the Delbrook Gymnasium on Fri- day, Oct. 19 at 8:15 p.m. The Blues grads will provide the opposition for their 1990 counter- parts, in what will be the first of 12 exhibition games the North Shore squad will play in prepara- tion for their league opener on Nov. 30 against Vancouver Com- munity College. The Blues will be playing all of their home games at the Delbrook gym until construction of their new facility, the Sportsplex, is completed in carly 1991.
