Xmas workshops slated PREPARE FOR Christmas by patticipating in workshops at Lonsdale Recreation Centre. School-age children can create their own gifts in classes scheduled to start Nov. 9. Baker clay orna- ments, neediework coasters and stamps for decorative wrapping are some of the items they can make. Preschoolers and 6 to 32 year olds can whip up special treats in the kitchen. Gingerbread men, houses and Christmas cookies are as much fun to make as they are to give. Paper quilling for adults creates more Christmas giveaways. Quill- ing involves coiling small strips of paper into delicate ornaments, decorations and pictures. ~ The folded star Christmas bail is another decoration for trees or doors that can be completed in an evening’s workshop, and dinner tables can come to life with a pro- fessional-looking Christmas ar- rangement easily re-created as a last-minute hostess gift.
