I’m going to buy myself

- some new luggage and I’d

like.to know a little bit about
the types of locks available
and get your opinion on the
most secure type. I. know
enough not to carry money
or other valuables in a suit-
case but I don’t like the idea

. of anyone pawing through

pack!
Answer:

I’ve got some bad news
for you about suitcase locks.
Experts tell me that almost

any suitcase can be opened |

by a piece of plastic or by

— who buys Gucci bags to
haul Woolworth’s T-shirts?
Rather than open the bag the
thief is apt to grab the whole
thing. Expert thieves watch

If you ever have to carry
anything of value in a suit-
case, pick up a new.one — at

shop. Tie it up with a couple

plenty of knots. Put on your
best set of worn-out denims
and tally-ho!

movie “Hotel”? I’ve been

wary. of hotel keys, not so.
much from the standpoint of *

theft but I’m a single woman

and travel quite a lot on -

Just how do these locks
work and how secure are
they? There was no point
asking the hotel — would they
tell me ‘‘Our. locks aren’t
worth a damn but they cost
a fortune to install so we’re
stuck with them.”’

doors were left wide open by
occupants.
