Cooper’s letter of 3/9/84. it
presented the readers with a
perfect example of the
ideological incoherence and
cynical hypocrisy so
prevalent among feminists
today. I offer the following

Eliza was adopted privately.
Harriet and her mother came
to Canada round about 1912.
Eighty-two ‘year old Eliza,
who still lives in Hexham is
very anxious to find her long
lost twin sister Harriet or
Harriet’s children.

Research in the U.K. has
established that the last news
of Harriet occurred in 1953,
when she was reported to be
living in Foronto, Ontario

. with her husband and three

children — two boys and a
girl. Unfortunately the name
of Harriet’s husband is not

Rites for Lynn Valley businessman

A MEMORIAL SERVICE
was held last Friday at the
Boal ‘Chapel, North Van-
couver, for Douglas Alex-
ander Hill, a longtime Lynn
Valley resident who died
March 3 after a_ lengthy
illness.

Born in Limerick, Sask.,
he and his wife moved to
Vancouver in 1939 and open-
ed the Smythe Coffee Bar at
Smythe and Homer.

The family settled in Lynn
Valley in 1954. In the 1960s,
after some years as office
