ROSS MacDonald MUSIC REVIEW DAVID FEINGOLD: The Boardwalk, Black Leaf Music CD #BL 101; ADAM HOLZMAN: Guitar, HRH CD #CD-056; HAROLD MICAY: The Romantic Guitar, Equinox CD #10069; DAVID RUSSELL: 19th Century Music, GHA CD# 126.002 UITAR-O-PHILES will be excited to know : that the neo-natal Vancouver Guitar Concert current one is extremely hard to find. There are eight selections in all here, headed off by an Andante et rondo by Dionisio Aguado. Napoleon Coste is also included along with Kaspar (the friendly) Mertz and Giulio Regondi — all performed with not inconsiderable affection. This CD's bound to be a collector’s item since it’s so hard to get. Next up is Vancouver's own Harold Micay who appears with VSO concertmaster Robert Davidovici and others for an evening of Chamber Music at the Metropolitan Tabernacle on March 20th. His CD is somewhat easier to obtain than Russell's but no less desirable for that. Here Association (VGCA) is finally | - - managing to get their con- cert schedule fattened up. And, in aid of that fledgling club, we're going to take a look at several performers who have recently played Vancouver or are scheduled to in the near future. The next to hit the Lower Mainland, with an afternoon workshop sponsored by the VGCA on March 5th at Tom Lee Music on Granville, is Chicago's David Russell. Micay fits comfort- ably between the strict Classical style of Russell (above) and the Pops of David Feingold (below).
