Seymour community organiza- ticn which is funding a local enhancement pro- gram. Gerry Leering, a fisheries biologist, who spent 14 vears in Ontario as a private con- sultant, is helping the Blueridge Community Association ino the | Mr. Seymour area coordinate the McCartney Creek Salmon Habitat Restoration project. Coho, chum and cut- throat salmon swimming, in McCartney Creek can only travel as far as the Seymour Parkway because of a 300- toot long culvert built in the 1960s. The installation of baffles «short ramps that allow salmon to jump, will enable the juvenile salmon to gain access to their tradition- alospawning grounds bv swimming underneath the tour-iane highway.
