NOT evervone on the North Shore is aware of the alternative to local taxt rides: the upstart Local Minibus (Super Shuttle). But from those in the know it’s a resounding thumbs up. And it is now available in West Vancouver. It's not a 24-hour service, you have to book ahead and you will probably have to share at least a por- tion of the journey with fellow passengers, but the price can’t be beat. It’s a flat fare of $3.50 anywhere within your municipality and an additional loonie for every boundary (zone) you cross. On top of that, if you share the ride with anyone else there’s a discount. There are regulacion battles being, fought and the taxi industry has presented some legitimate concerns to the North Shore councils, but meanwhile free enterprise reigns.
