Astro comes in three flavors in
*88 — CS standard trim, uplevel
CL trim and the LT Touring
Package.

A new custom cloth fabric will
enrich the comfort and appearance
of the Astro’s interior.

INuminated selector knobs make
identification of the heater con-
trols easier in the dark.

A new body vent valve will
replace the vent valve located in
the sliding door. The new valve
improves flow-through ventilation
and reduces interior noise.

Three new colors — dark hunter
green metallic, black sapphire
metallic and light mesa brown —
will he available for ‘8s.

The standard powerplant for the
Astro passenger van is the 4.3 litre
fuel-injected V6 enyine. Properly
equipped, Astro can haul as much
as 2,724 ke (6,000 pounds), in-
cluding trailer, passengers, equip-
ment and cargo.

The CS trim has been upgraded
to include headliners, color-keyed
mats and full interior garnish
mouldings.

A new sport suspension features
a rear stabilizer bar, 32 mm low
pressure gas shock absorbers, a
solid front stabilizer bar, specific
steering gear with internal stops
and Goodyear P245/60RI5 “GT
+ 4° tires.

Also coming later in the model
year are electronically operated
outside rearview mirrors, and a
new electronic instrument cluster.
