Mailbox Dear Editor: In two recent letters to the Editor, the North Van Schoolboard’s intent ta Teplace some typewriters and that portion of the budget which is labelled trustee ex- penditures were condemned. tT would like to pravide some facts and another point of view in response. The 105 typewriters ure to be used by business educa- tion and career preparation students in their preparation for the world of work. They replace work units which are six to eight years old and consequently are very costly to maintain. The typewriters to be acquired are basic but modern units. We estimate their price to be $600 each Thanks Doug Dear Editor: Re: Doug Collins column “*Mothers Day aborted”’ Sorry you missed out on your special Mothers Day treat of Brunch Out, The scenario that took place over Brunch was pure delight to me. I laughed when I[ read the article and can still chuckle up another one day later when my mind's eye con- jures up your brunch scene that developed. In closing, Grey Eyes, I say thank you for my mothers day treat. A chuckle and a chortle was a happen- ing that we moms can never have too much of. I look forward to many more by way of Doug Col- lins column. Joan Fry North Vancouver, B.C. SHOW & TELL Carpet Care & Equip. Renta! It provides for standard expenses such as normal honoraria, pro- vineial association fees, aud out-of-pocket costs. Similar expenditures can be found in any Canadian School District operation. The budget is not unique or frivolous. It is a frugal amount necessary to meet obligations contemplated by the School Act and normal business practices.
