readers doubled in 1978,

-with the 30 users “reading”

an average of 55 books each.

The greater Vancouver
Library Federation, provide
the taped books, a collection
of almost 2300 titles.

of a plan. The committee felt
these functions were beyond
the scope of the Association.

Instead, it recommended
the Bar and the Law Society
monitor plans which might
be offered by such groups as
credjt unions, trade unions,
professional associations, or
insurance companies.
Monitoring would apply to
ensure that such features as
the traditional = solicitor-
client.relationship would be
preserved under the plans.

The committee drafted a
model plan which, if finally
approved, would carry the
Association's blessing as a
Bar-approved plan. It will be
discussed at the
Association's annual con-
ference in June
