E-mails, voice mes- sages and even com- ments by co- workers and neighbors have made it clear that writing about North Shore hikes can be danger- ous to your health. It’s not that these people don’t like reading about the great outdoors, its just that sometimes the hikes hit a little too close to home. The recent Mt. Seymour-Mystery Lake hike column in particular ow “brought a zaftload of wrath. So, at the risk of being accused of prejudicial reporting, this week we'll tramp into the West Vancouver woods for one of the best-kept secrets on this here shore, . Cypress Falls Park is located a stone’s throw fiom Woodgreen Place, a small cul-de-sac off Woodgreen Drive. Heading west on tle Upper Levels Highway, take the Caulfeild Exit (#4), and turn right at the first stop sign anto Woodgreen Drive. Woodgreen Place is the next right. Drive to the end of the street and park in the gravel parking fot on the left. The trail tur this great after-dinner or before-work hike runs along the Dundarave: Overview: The quintes- sential West Vancouver beach. Tiddlycove in all its glory. Sandwiched | between the excelient Beach House restau- rant at Dundarave Pier and the grand homes of Bellevue Avenue. What other beach is resided over by a tidy stucco fouse flying the Union Jack? Long live the Queen. Location: South end of 25th Street, at the western terminus of the grand West Vancouver Seawalk. Just down the road from Capers great wholesome food house. Water/beach quality: Can be loaded with flotsam and jetsam during ‘certain tides. Good wave action on occasion. Water temperature is usually moderate. Beach is a mixture of sand and pebbles.
