Sewing students shine
in Mannequin Parade

THE sewing, students of West
Vancouver secondary, Sentinel
ondary and Rockridge middle school
recently got the chance to show their
creations at the Mannequin Parade.

feature clothings and textile students from Grades
Seven through 12 from the three sehouts, The
stents worked all year on the fashions they
would inadel it tront ofa crowd of parents, fel-
low students, teacher and frends,

A number of businesses from around West
Vancouver helped the models to Jock fabulous,
pelveting hair and makeup, Other businesses
donated gifts to be drawn as door prizes.

their applause,

‘The Sweet Valley: High cheerleaders revved
up the crowd with their abounding energy
ever going so far as to demonstrate the effective
result of “kick pleats.”

One could see the amazing amount of time
and effort putin by both the students and the
dedicated teachers,

“Efeel that this is a wondertil platform for is
to show other people just what it is we do down
in the sewing room,” commented Susie Dickson,
a grad "97 student. After the Grand Finale, with
flashing cameras and pounding niusic, the crowd
headed to the cafeteria for food and refreshments
provided by the foods and nutrition classes,

It was a stuccessfl evening and everyone had
an unforgettable time, Another grad, Lindsay
MeAninch summed it up by saying: “i hope the
show inspires the younger sewers to keep up the
impressive work."
