first step, pedal, and stroke.

Kendall Morrison, a former
member of the ‘Canadian National
Triathlon Teas, is conducting two
Triathton Workshops for Women
this spring: April 23, 24, and 25 in

_ North Vancouver at Ron Andrews

recreation centre; and May 7, 8,
and 9 at the Dunbar community

centre in Vancouver.

Participants will learn hands-on
training Ups in the triathlon’s
three disciplines: swimming, cycl-
ing, and running, Also, profes-
sional guest lecturers will offer in-
sights into the mechanisms of fe-
male athletes in topics ranging
from injury prevention to nutri-
tion.

Morrison’s race resume includes
upwards of 100 triathlon compeli-
tions, including two top-five plac-
ings at the gruelling Penticton

Ironman, the Canadian Duathlon
Championship title, a record-
breaking win at the Vancouver In-
ternational Triathlon, and a top-
10 world ranking in both the
triathlon and the duathlon.

The North Shore -Triathlon is
scheduled for May 24.

Registration for both workshops
is now taking place. The fee for
the full weekend is $125. To regis-

THE STUDENT body of
Cleveland Elementary will be
running circles around their
teachers this Friday, April 16
during. a day-long jog-a-thon
in support of a new track at
Handsworth secondary school.

The students are currently
signing up donors -from the
community for pledge amounts
based on the number of laps
run by the participants.

The Handsworth Secondary
School Association is coor-
dinating the fundraising efforts
to rebuild the aging track, a
facility that is used not only by
the school, but also by the
local elementary schools and
the community at large.
