(Terry Peters photo) Teachers take task force to task By KATHY BRENNAN Teachers have slammed the North Vancouver Task Force Report on Vandalism as containing § con- tradictory recom- mendations and poor research. In a tetter read at North Van School Board’s mecting last week, North Vancouver Teachers’ Association called parts of the report misleading and subjective. “Another difficulty with the report is that the scope of recommendations is over- whelming and contradictory and would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to implement,” said Lorretta Ceraldi, NVTA president. in the letter. The 48-page report was prepared by Dr. Warren Bell, chairman, Rob Boyd, Norman Glanfield, George Grills, Tina Mahood and Tom Tupper under the authority of the North Vancouver District Council. The committee was set up to investigate vandalism .and anti-social behavior on public property in the district, investigage public perception of responsibility and make recommendations to prevent vandalism. The 21-year-old American woman, Martha Jane Norman, of Marietta, Georgia, fell from a ledge near the suspension bridge and was washed about a quarter of a mile down- stream to the Twin Falls area. The woman, who had been with two companions at the time, had crossed the suspension bridge to the west side and then walked down about 100 feet to the ledge.
