WV Unitarian Church hosts native drum-making workshop THE NORTH Shore Unitarian Church is sponsoring a native drum-making workshop to bridge the gap between native and non- native cultures. Workshop leader Patrick Hen- drickson, a Native American teacher, lecturer, community leader and spiritual healer, will lead a sweat lodge ceremony and assist participants in making their own drums. Throughout the workshop, Hendrickson will present an aboriginal concept of spirituality. “The drum is the symbel of the heartbeat, and workshop panici- pants will connect with Mother Earth through drumming and song,” said Hendrickson. “Drumming is a way of ex- pressing oneself and a’ way to heal.
