THE West Coast Music Awards will honour the
region’s best at the Commodore Ballroom Sunday.

Several nominees claim North Shore connections,
Lions Bay resident Colin James could make it a hat trick. He's
up for Best Blues/R&B Album (Colin James and the Little Bia
Sand Il) Live Performer of the Year and Producer of the Year
honours
Bowen Island resident Shan Ulrich will be battling with friend
and sometime music partner Rov Forbes from North Van for
Song of the Year honours. Ulrich is nominated for her song “f
Will Be There,” Forbes for “Green Emotion.”
Forbes is also nominated for Best Folk/Roots/Traditional
Album for his recent release, Crasy Old Moon. Rolf Hennemann,
also North Shore, is up for Engineer of the Year award for his work
on the album. North Van’s Mike Plomikoff, who engineered
Psvela C for K also nominated.
Lynn Valley harpist Rita Costanzi’s Of Fields and Forests is
nominated for Best Classical Album while West Van rapper Adam
H. will be vying for Best Urban/Hip-Hop Release for his CD,
Everything.
Brad Turner Quartet, who teaches at Capilano College, is
for Musician of the Year and has two shots at Best Jazz Album. His jj ;

Sundays at Sailor Hagar’s Brew Pub in Lower Lonsdale, is up for
Female Vocalist of the Year.
