B.C.’s financial failure

IN his resignation
remarks, ex-B.C.
Premier Glen Clark
lauded the NDP gov-
ernment’s policy suc-
cesses. In particular,
Clark sounded the vic-
tory chorus in health
care, education and, yes,
even the economy.
At this crossroads in B.C. government's real record and
politics, it is appropriate to to outline a road map for eco-
shed some light on the Clark nomic revitalization.

The most visible failure of
the NDP government has
been its nabihty to manage
B.C's finances. In 1991, the
