Mission = Raceway’s road
course. “It was a great race
with constant competition in
my rearview mirror but [ was
fortunate enough to lead from
start to finish,” Rovner said.
The late-May race for sedans
and sports cars featured a rela-
tively light field of 14 cars.

Rovner said the race started
on a wet track which gave an
advantage to the lighter front-
wheel drive cars.

“But as the track dried the
horsepower of the Camaro
overcame the conditions,” he
said. Rovner ran the heaviest
car in the race on the track that
challenges braking systems the
most. “Pve been workin:g with

who have developed + friction
modifying compouid that is
giving me s competitive edge
in braking.” .

July 18 Rovner goes up
against 2 much [larger group of
cars featuring some of the best
drivers from throughout the
Pacific Northwest.

“We expect to see more
than 150 cars competing dur-
ing the weekend which will
make for a great spectator
event,” Rovner said.

has experienced a resurgence

reports that attendance at
