' . Audrey Giassemis received the Award of Excellence for Large Residential Garden for her Lynn Valley area property which includes Japanese, Greck, English and native gardens. The Award of Excellence for Small Residential Garden was pre- ‘sented to Howard and Mary Mann whose property on Mathers in West Vancouver peaked in summertime: with 140 rose bushes, 50 rhododen- ‘drons and 40 flats of annuals. For Small Residential Garden, the winners are: Nigel and Barbara Bunning of West Van, first place; Evelyn Routledge of North Van District, second; and Antony and Eva Fabris, also of North Van ’ District, third place. Peter and Maria Skoros of North Vancouver City received the Avvard for Cultural Excellence fur their Japanese garden. The winners in the Large Residential Garden ‘category are: Evelyn Campbell of West Van, first place; Robert J. Brown of North Van District, second, and Christina Johnson of West Van, third. The Award of Recognition was presented to Caro] Mason and the residents of West Vancouver Care Centre. The centre’s special flower beds ure raised so that they may be tended by wheelchair-bound resi- dents. John Ceraldi of North Van District placed second: Allister and Rita Keith were third. Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park was named Best Large Commercial Garden. BC Rail’s: North Van City headquarters came in second place and Park Royal Hotel placed third. Chevron swept the category for Small Commercial Garden, with the Ambleside, Lonsdale and Lynn Valley ‘service stations placing first second and third, respectively. Best Residential Complex. was awarded to the Capilano Estate in North’ Van District. Edgemont Terrace Apartments, placed second: “West Van’s Parkview Towers placed third. >The Civic Beautification award went to North Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club.
