NV childcare centre receives funds

TWENTY EIGHT childcare
centres in B.C., including
one in North Vancouver,
have received repair,
replacement aad relocation
grants from the Ministry of
Wonien’s Equality.

The grants

total more than
$95,600. .

YMCA of Greater Van-
couver Boundary Kids Club in
North Vancouver will receive
$4,659.70 for renovations.

Another 20 grant applications
are under review.

The grants will allow recipient
societies to upgrade facilities, fur-
nishings and equipment to comply
with Ministry of Health licensing
regulations and to assist with costs
when moving to a new location.

helping centres maintain their
safety standards,’’ said Women’s
Equality Minister Penny Priddy.

“The grants will help 850
children in the centres enjoy a safe
and secure environment where
caregivers can offer quaiity care."”
