Wissmeyer, who works in acrylics, says his work does not portray society; it is entirely subjective, ex- pressing his creativity and love of nature and the sea. His paintings — mostiy abstract works — probe nature and what lies beyond earth’s horizon. Born to a seafaring family in Hamburg, Germany, Wissmeyer spent 25 years in the merchant marine before becoming an artist. His exhibit opens tomorrow evening from 7:30-9:30 p.m., and runs until Dec. 12. It is sponsored by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council’s Art in Public Places committee. , orf the North Shore! at prices worth staying on this side for!
