Wissmeyer abstracts at City Hall

THE WORKS of Gunter Wissmeyer make up this
month’s exhibition at the North Vancouver City Hall

Gallery.

Wissmeyer, who works in acrylics, says his work
does not portray society; it is entirely subjective, ex-
pressing his creativity and love of nature and the sea.

His paintings — mostiy abstract works — probe
nature and what lies beyond earth’s horizon.

Born to a seafaring family in Hamburg, Germany,
Wissmeyer spent 25 years in the merchant marine

before becoming an artist.

His exhibit opens tomorrow evening from 7:30-9:30
p.m., and runs until Dec. 12. It is sponsored by the
North Vancouver Community Arts Council’s Art in
Public Places committee.
