Erratic driving alarming

The driving ability of a
man in Horseshoe Bay
Thursday night so alarmed
residents that police
received seven calls before
he was finally stopped.

A West Vancouver pohce
spokesman said a total of
seven people in the Hor

police at about 11.30 p.m. to
complain about the erratic
driving of a blue pickup
truck

As a result of the calls
police stopped a blue 4x4 in
the 6500 block Royal
Avenue in Horseshoe Bay

A North Vancouver
transporation company and
its president were fined a
total of $20,000 Tuesday in
North Vancouver Provincial
Court for income tax

evasion.

Systems Inc., of 320

Seymour Boulevard, and
Jack William Charlies Sr.,
appeared before Judge
J.B. Paradis for charges
arising between 1976 and
1979.

Charles, aged 52, of
Surrey pleaded guilty to
evading payment of $14,174
in federal tax payments on
an undeclared income of
$29,965 in 1976.

Charles was fined $12,000
and given 30 days to pay.

Charles and the company
were also jointly charged
with evading federal tax of
$5,833 by unlawfully
claiming deductions and
expenses of $16,201 im the
period between March 31,
1976 and October 1, 1979.

In this case, Charles had a
tennis court built on his
property by six contractors
and he charged the work to
the company.

The company was fined
$6,000 and Charles was fined
$2,000.

In addition to the fines,
Charles must pay the evaded
