First 1 would like to inform Mr. Brierley that | have had other concerns published regarding my regards to tran- sit mismanagement. The first was regarding the Flyer buses wort: $220,000 that did not work in the snow, The second was regarding the dismal lack of service in the Blueridge area (especially at night), and the third was concern over the fact that the first. priority when ‘TransLink was formed was to spend $150,000 on a logo and $250,000 on a new bus design, instead of focusing on better service. I stand by everything | Sunday, March 5, 2000 ~ North Shore News - 9 MAIL BOX———— TransLink taken to task have ever had published about our transit service, In terms of this PAC com- mittee, | agree with Mr. Brerley that the volunteers are sincere in their efforts to contribute to the conimunity and improve transit service. However, I feel the com- mittee is not being controlled by the volunteers, but rather by the paid employees of the transit systenn. By the same icken the real isstics are being nicely swept under the carpet. ‘TransLink now has « ability to tax us. We are already ficing fare increases in June, as well asa $75 charge for our cars, con- trol of Air Care and the ability ta put tolls on our bridges, ete. To whom will this body be huge accountable?
