Transportation Financing Authority. “Investing in road safety using enginecring solutions is part of B.C.’s drive to save lives — a comprehensive pro- gram aimed at saving lives, reducing crashes and keeping auto insurance rates aftord- able,” says | Thompson. “Across the province this year, ICEC is investing almost $8 million in various road improvement partner- ships and traffic safety stud- ics.” Since 1994, ICBC has partnered with the City of Vancouver to improve traffic safety along several corridors. A $105,900 investment in the Main strect corridor has reduced ICBC claims costs by $2.1 million from 1995 te 1996. “Reducing crashes and claims costs is the key to affordable auto insurance rates,” Thompson added.
