Child enticer alert
Tie NORTH Vancouver ROMP are investigating a
report thata while niale was trying to entice children
into his car on Sept. 13 near the 1900-block of Cedar
Village Court.

car is deseribed as a small, blue, two-door with a dark
interior.

The car had a broken tail light on the passenger side,
according to two young witnesses.

The incident occurred at 3 p.m.

Cheque fake

A 35-YEAR-OLD Surrey woman was recently jailed 21
days in connection with a charge of using a forged
cheque in North Vancouver City.

Shayne Aan Cochran pleaded guilty to a charge stem-
ming from an Aug. 12, £993 incident.

Cochran also received 12 months’ probation,

She is required to pay $600 restitution.

Judge Doug Moss sentenced Cohran in North
Vancouver provincial court on Aug. 26.

Night noise

THE SEYMOUR Golf and Country Club received a fine
of $100 for contravening a noise bylaw.

A representative of the golf club was found guilty of
the infraction stemming from an Aug, 27, 1993 incident.

The charge stated that the club made noise during the
night that disturbed the peace, quiet and comfort of resi-
dent Edward Winter.

Judge Carl Walker fined the club in North Vancouver
provincial court.

AirCare watch

THE NORTH Vancouver RCMP are stepping up traffic
watches near the local AirCare station to lock for unin-
sured vehicles going through the facility.

Uninsured motorists have been reported driving
through the McKeen Avenue station, according to a
North Vancouver RCMP spokesman, Anyone caught dri-
ving an uninsured vehicle is subject to a fine. Drivers
who let their insurance run out before getting their cars
tested at AirCare should purchase temporary insurance,
say police.

NV man jailed

A 33-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was recently
jailed 21 days on a charge of possessing cocaine.

William Cornelius Vantunen pleaded guilty to the
charge stermming from an April 15 incident in North
Vancouver City. The jail sentence was to run concurrent
to a jail sentence Vantunen was serving. Judge Bill
Rodgers sentenced Vantunen in North Vancouver
provincial court on Aug. 25.
