at Dyke trial

THE IS-YEAROLD woman charged with second-degree murder
in connection with the death of a West Vancouver heroin dealer
testified she told a fellow prisoner she had committed the murder
to stop prisoner harassment.-

Alisha Marlene Dyke said she made up the murder story because
‘she was getting pushed around by other prisoners at the Lakeside
Lower Mainland correction institute.

Dyke, a prostitute, was originally charged June 26 in connéetion
with the death of Denis Leo Auger, 41, after the West Vancouver
‘drug dealer was found dead March 1S i in his 1395 Crestwell Road
home. i

A mystery witriess. testifying. Friday, in Dyke’ s° B.C. Supreize
vVourt trial said Dyke had said she. had killed Auger for his money
and his drugs. :

Prosecutor James Hogan requested the court keep the identity of
the witness a secret-to protect her safety. -

In earlier testimony, Dyke's friend Chery Walker told the court -
Dyke had told her she had put her hand over r Auger’ Ss mouth and ,
nose after injecting him with heroin.
