Cars of England and was designed by Carol Shelby. “A young guy could walk into a dealership, put $500 down on $7,000 and drive away with a rac- ing car,”’ said Brettoner. Today the remaining originals command in the neighborhood of $200,000 but a replica kit con- sisting of a fibreglass body and custom-made chassis (both made by Brettoner’s company) can be had for $6,995.
