Albert ‘Temple said ina statement of claim filed Sept. 28 in B.C. Supreme Court diat he was playing hockey at the Mount Seymour Parkway rink complex on May 20 at 10 p.m. He said he skated over a deep gouge in the ice and tripped, causing him to: tall and sustain injuries. Temple said the slip-and- fall injury was caused by the negligence of the municipality and rink owner tor failing to ensure the premises were sate. The detendants, he said, failed to correct: dangerous condi- tieas when they knew or ought to have known of them and failed to keep the ice ma sate and proper condition for people to skate on, Temple clims to have sub fered paraplegia, paralysis of his deft arm, depression, numbness, loss of sleep and concentration, fracture toa vertebra and loss of co-ardi- nation, The statement said Temple has fost income and has incurred expenses for medi- ving and medical treatment.
